Winds.Process.2005.01 (2015)

In 2015, after a long hiatus from making analog wind drawings, I started making them again. I constructed a new apparatus to suspend the pen above the paper and started experimenting with different pens and paper.

The 2005 drawings were made during a Massachusetts winter on the balcony of my second-floor apartment. The balcony on the floor above provided some protection from rain and snow. The 2015 drawings were made on the corner of my backyard deck with no protection from above.

As I experimented with different papers and pens, I tried to find a combination that works well in Boone's weather. Morning dew, rain, ice and snow all impacted the drawings. Eventually, I decided that Yupo's synthetic papers worked very well in response to the moisture.
