My interest in exploring ways to generate three-dimensional forms with wind data coincided with my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. The development process for this form took about nine months. Many promising forms in virtual space did not make it to the real world. Plastic test prints informed the design process, eventually leading to a successful form printed in steel and gold plated. The shape of arc in this form is determined by an hour’s average wind speed and direction.
